Our History: A Legacy of Excellence

Electrical Wholesalers Inc. was established in 1956 by Hymen Namerow. He worked as a master electrician, but his entrepreneurial spirit soon led him to build Pequot Electric Company in East Hartford. After selling the company in 1947, he and his brother Nathan Namerovsky opened Central Electric Supply in Torrington. It soon became a successful electrical supply distribution house.

In 1955, the business was destroyed by a great flood, but Namerow never gave up. A year later, he founded Electrical Wholesalers Inc. His commitment to excellence never wavered and his reputation in the Hartford area became well-known. Mr. Namerow passed away in 1993 at the age of 87, leaving his company to the dedicated employees that have made it the success it is today.
